CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021 CANCELLATION: Key meeting underway, BIG decision today

A meeting of state Education Ministers and state Education Secretaries to hold discussions over the cancellation or holding the CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021 and entrance exams for professional courses like NEET, JEE Main is currently underway. Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is chairing the meeting in which Union Minister for Education Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank', Union Minister for Women and Child, Smriti Zubin Irani and Union Minister Information and Broadcasting, Prakash Javadekar are also present.

It is expected that the government would take a final decision on the fate of CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021 during the meeeting and lakhs of CBSE Class 12 students who are waiting for the government's decision would soon know the final decision.

Union Ministry of Education said that on May 22 a letter was written by Pokhriyal to states and UTs and mentioned in the laetter that the Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education and CBSE are exploring options regarding the conduct of examinations, in the wake of pandemic.

The letter also said that coronavirus outbreak has affected various areas including the education sector, particularly the board exams and entrance exams. 

Pokhriyal tweeted on Saturday (May 22) that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has desired that any decision regarding the future of students should be taken after consultation with states and the education stakeholders – teachers, parents and students. The Education Minister had also asked parents, teachers and students to send their suggestions. “Friends, I need your valuable suggestions…You can send them on my Twitter handle,” he had tweeted.
