Amid the rising coronavirus COVID-19 cases across the country, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has had to make some tough decisions regarding CBSE Class 10, 12 Board Exams 2021. The CBSE recently announced its decision to cancel the CBSE Class 10 Board Exam 2021 and postpone Class 12 exams 2021.
The CBSE also announced that an 'objective criterion' will be taken into consideration to announce the results of Class 10 Board Exams 2021. Though the CBSE has made this announcement but many students are still confused about this 'objective criterion'.
What is Objective Criterion Class 10?
The CBSE has announced that the objective criterion will be decided up by the CBSE. The CBSE, however, is yet to release the official objective criterion yet. The CBSE has also announced that those students who are unhappy with their results will be permitted to appear for written exams once the COVID-19 situation improves.
Meaning of Objective Criterion
It is learnt that CBSE will decide upon an assessment system where the Board will grade CBSE Class 10 students on the basis of their past performance. Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal has said the CBSE will use 'internal assessment' to build their objective criterion. While not much clarity is given by CBSE over this objective criterion, it is certain that the CBSE will consider the projects and internal tests of the students to formulate the final results. Sources said that the CBSE would soon announce the objective criterion to grade Class 10 students. Meanwhile, students are advised to official CBSE website regualrly for any update.
As for Class 12 Board Exams, the CBSE is expected to announce the new dates in June after reviewing the COVID situation.
