CBSE Board Exams 2021: Reduced syllabus or examinations postponed? Here's what students should know

Earlier, the CBSE had postponed the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) due to the coronavirus pandemic, scheduled to be held on July 5, 2020. The examination will now be held on January 31, 2021.

In the view of the COVID-19 pandemic, there were speculations that the Central Board of Secondary (CBSE) might delay board exams 2021 by a month or two or cut short the syllabus. However, keeping in mind the entrance examinations such as NEET, JEE, etc, the board is likely to conduct class 10, class 12 board exams 2021 earlier than expected. However, no official announcement has been made in this regard from CBSE.

Meanwhile, sources have claimed that the CBSE has already started the process to hold Class 10, 12 exams and has completed the process of list of candidates, examination forms. 

Several CBSE affiliated schools are also making efforts to complete the syllabus on time so that the students do not face trouble if CBSE decides to hold board exams earlier than expected.

The CBSE has also released the latest sample papers with marking schemes, indicating that the exams could be held on time.

Several reports have claimed that the board is expected to release Class 12 Date Sheet 2021 or CBSE Time Table 2021 in the upcoming days. Once released, students can check the exam dates at cbse.nic.in.

As per news agency PTI, principals of several Delhi schools and adjoining areas are not in favour of postponement of the CBSE board exams 2021. The school principals believe that the postponement will not be the right move as it will impact the schedule of higher education entrance exams and admission processes as well.

Universities and schools across the country were shut down on March 16 in view of the coronavirus pandemic. While several restrictions have been eased gradually in different phases of the 'unlock' since June 8, educational institutions continue to remain closed in some states.
