The process of establishing an Artificial Intelligence (AI) based Identification System for recording attendance and management of SDMIS (Student Database Management Information System) for government schools in Assam has been undertaken by RailTel, a telecom service operator.
RailTel's overall project cost is Rs 19.20 crore, with Rs 12 crore being a one-time payment that will be recovered after the project is completed. The program's yearly maintenance cost is Rs 3.96 crore, with a two-year Annual Maintenance Contract (AMC) under the present scope. This project took RailTel four months to finish effectively.
Technology has always been a method for individuals to improve and perform tasks more quickly. One of the technological advancements is Artificial Intelligence. This AI-based Recognition System was created, modified, and installed by RailTel for record keeping in all 33 districts of Assam across 48,000 elementary, secondary, and higher secondary schools.
Puneet Chawla, the CMD of RailTel, spoke about the initiative to a leading daily, “with a global pandemic rapidly changing the world around us, all important sectors like health, education are leaning towards cutting edge digital technologies to adapt to the new normal.”
RailTel is offering end-user training for the site's successful execution, along with the AI-based technology to schools in Assam.
RailTel also offers a variety of technology-based services, such as AI-based Cloud platform solutions for Digital Classrooms, Educational Management Software, and so on.
