CBSE Board Exam 2019 starts today - keep this in mind before you take the exam

From February 15, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 12 Board Examination 2019 are all set to begin. 

Around 12.87 lakh students have enrolled for the CBSE 12th Board Examinations 2019, which will get over by April 3. 

The examinations for vocational subjects will begin from Friday, while other main examinations are slated to start from March 2. 

While advising the students in a unique way, the CBSE Chief asked them to "firewall" all distractions for the time being and let fun and games go to the 'random access memory', while stressing that exams should not be a measure of one's success or failure.

On the other hand, Class 10 exams are all set to begin from February 21 and end on March 29. 

The total number of students registered for class 10 and class 12 board examination is 31,14,281 candidates which include 28 transgenders. 

As per the statement released by CBSE, the Board exams will be held in 4,974 centers across India and 78 centers abroad.

Here's all that the students need to know:

1. Change in paper pattern

According to reports, there is a change of question paper pattern this year for both class 10 and 12 board exams. The board has increased objective type questions in the papers this year with the number of options increasing.

Around 25 per cent questions will be objective type. In previous board exams, up to 10% of the questions were objective type.

More objective type questions would help students score better. Also, this year, students would have 33 per cent more question options to choose from

 

2. Things permitted and not

Before you enter the exam hall, it would be nice for you to know what things are allowed and not allowed inside.

 

Things allowed: Students are allowed to carry only their pens and basic stationery inside the examination hall.

Please be advised that the pencil box or pouch should be transparent and should not have anything written on it.

Diabetic students are allowed to carry a snack in a clean wrap to the examination hall.

Water bottles (transparent) are allowed inside the examination hall.

CBSE Admit Card and School ID card is mandatory and must be carried to the examination hall.

Please note that NO STUDENTS will be allowed entry to the exam hall without CBSE admit card and school ID Card.

Also, regular students are required to be in school uniform this time. 


Things not allowed: All sort of communication devices including mobile phones, smart watches or health bands are prohibited. This also includes Bluetooth speakers, headphones, calculators, etc.

Any sort of printed or written material is not allowed inside the examination hall as well. Students found in possession of any printed material would be considered as using unfair means and appropriate action would be taken.

Packed food like chips, cold drinks or biscuits is not allowed inside the examination hall

Here are some important rules that one must follow during the exam: 

Make sure your CBSE admit card is signed by your parents. 

Also, make sure that you reach the exam center on or before 9.45 am on the days of exams and be seated in the exam hall at or before 10 am. According to CBSE, no student will be permitted after 10 am.

The examinees must wear their school uniforms on the day of exams and should carry their school IDs. 

Students must also obey all the instructions given in the exam hall and ensure discipline during exams. 

One must read the question paper carefully and follow instructions in it. Reading the instructions on the Answer Book and filling in accurate and relevant details, wherever required is also important

4. Results to be out early

After having preponed the exam dates from March to February, the CBSE will also be releasing the results of class 10 and 12 examinations earlier this year than the previous years.

The board has said that it aims to bring out board results one week earlier than previous years
