JEE Mains 2021 exam dates announced, check details here

Also, JEE Mains will be held four times from next year- February, March, April and May.

Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal has announced the dates of JEE Main. The engineering entrance will be held from February 23 to 26. Also, JEE Mains will be held four times from next year- February, March, April and May.

New pattern:

In the new paper pattern introduced, there will be no negative marking in the 15 alternative questions. The candidates have to attempt 75 questions out of 90 – or 25 out of questions 30 in each section of Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics.
JEE Mains will be held in 13 languages from next year. These include English, Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Assamese, Kannada, Marathi, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu, Odia and Malayalam, Pokhriyal said. 

NTA to calculate best marks to calculate for ranking. Even if a student appears in the four session, the NTA will calculate his/her best marks out of the four exams.

Registration forms for the February exam would be released shortly on jeemain.nta.nic.in. After February, the exam would be conducted in March, April as well as May 2021. Students would have the choice of choosing the exam they wish to appear in.

"Thank you all for sharing your constructive suggestions regarding JEE (main) exams. We have got your suggestions examined. I will be announcing the schedule, the number of times the exam will be held at 6 PM today. Stay tuned," said the Education Minister in a video message posted on the micro-blogging site Twitter. 

On Tuesday, the National Testing Agency (NTA) released a notification mentioning JEE Main 2021 dates, a new exam pattern among other information, which was later withdrawn.

The Minister on December 10 had a live interactive session with teachers, parents and students on the upcoming exams, where he had announced that the government is considering the possibility of holding the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) three or four times a year and a proposal is being evaluated on reducing the number of questions that students can attempt in JEE (Main) 2021.

Joint Entrance Exam Main is the admission test for National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) and Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs). It is also the qualifying examination for the IIT admission test -- JEE Advanced.

Step 3: Click on the way you wish to apply

Step 4: Register if not applied before using credentials

Step 5: Verify and create log-in

Step 6: Fill form, upload images

Step 7: Make the payment, submit the form
