Classroom teaching for students of Classes 10 and 12 outside the containment zones in Jharkhand will resume from today onwards, i.e. Monday, following the issuance of a circular by the state government.

As per the notification, approval from the parents would be needed for students who wish to attend their classes to be conducted as per Education Department guidelines.

The state government of Jharkhand had earlier announced that the schools in the state will reopen from December 16. This decision was then called off and the date of reopening of schools was postponed further.

Apart from the conduction of regular classes on the school premises, the authorities have also been instructed to conduct online classes to reduce the number of students present in school. The management or officials concerned can also direct students to visit schools to fill up forms and for registration purposes subject to the permission of their parents.

Social distancing and other guidelines issued amid the coronavirus pandemic will have to be followed.

The number of students per classroom will also be limited till the Covid-19 situation isn’t under control in the state. Students of classes 10 and 12 have been allowed to attend classes in school in view of the upcoming board exams in 2021.

From December 21, classes will also recommence in medical, dental and nursing colleges across the state.

The Jharkhand government has granted permission to Sri Krishna Administrative Training Institute, State Institute of Rural Development, Police Training College, Forest Training School, and Jharkhand State Sports Promotion Society to conduct offline classes.

The schools and colleges in Jharkhand have been closed since March 2020 in view of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and the nationwide lockdown.

The government has also said that from Monday onwards, only up to 300 persons are allowed to gather at any religious or wedding function, depending on the size of the premises or ground available.
