Expected date of releasing official answer key of NEET 2021

The official answer key would be released by NTA (National Testing Agency) and is expected to be announced in the first week of October 2021. NTA will release the provisional answer key for the NEET exam for every series and set, in PDF format.

The benefit of downloading NEET official answer key is that students will get a chance to submit the challenges (if any) against the answer key by following the specified procedure.

How to download NEET 2021 official answer key?

Candidates will need to log in with their application credentials to download their NEET OMR sheet and tally it with the official answer key as released by the NTA. The agency will be releasing the answer key for all question papers having codes M, N, O and P.

How to estimate or calculate NEET 2021 scores from the answer key?

For calculating NEET 2021 scores from the released official answer key, aspirants can follow the steps provided here.

  • Compare each response to the subsequent answer key
  • For each correct answer, add 4 marks
  • For each incorrect answer, minus 1 mark

Students may also use the below given formula to calculate their NEET scores

NEET total scores = (No. of correct answer x 4) - (No. of incorrect answer x 1)

How to challenge NEET 2021 answer key?

NTA will open the dates for challenge of the questions and answers in the released official answer key of NEET. If candidates find any discrepancy in the released answer key of NEET by NTA, they can raise the objections for which they need to follow a standard procedure as specified by the NTA. 

Candidates will be required to pay fees of Rs 1000 per answer to challenge a particular question. The said fees can be paid via online mode with a debit card, credit card or net banking.

After receiving the objections, NTA will access the queries with their experts. If the objection raised is correct then the answer will be corrected. It must be noted that the candidate will be given a refund in this case.

However, if the objection raised is incorrect then the answer key will remain the same and the final result will be announced based on that answer key. It must be noted that the candidate will not be given a refund in this case.

Steps to be followed to challenge NEET 2021 answer key

  • Visit the official website of NTA
  • Click on the challenge answer key tab
  • Log in with your credentials using application ID and password
  • Click on the ‘apply for key challenge’ tab
  • Select the question paper code
  • Select the question to be challenged
  • Select the answer that is correct and provide the necessary details of the same
  • Click on the ‘submit’ button
  • Pay the fees
  • Download and save the confirmation slip

In this way, a candidate may raise his/ her objections to the official answer key of the NEET 2021 exam.
