Types of cutoffs of JEE Main
JEE Main cut-off is generally of 2 types. Qualifying cut-offs and admission cut-offs.
Qualifying cut-offs
Aspirants, who will be successful in securing the qualifying cut-off marks in JEE Mains, will be eligible to appear for JEE Advanced for admission in reputed IITs in India.
Admission cut-offs
The admission cut-offs are the minimum marks required by the candidates in order to increase their chances of securing a seat or admission in the participating institutes/colleges.
Candidates must ensure that they secure minimum marks equivalent to the closing ranks to get admission in JEE Main participating institutes.
Admission cut-offs will be released after each round of counseling by JOSAA on behalf of the participating institutes.
JEE Main 2021 expected qualifying cut off marks (percentile)
JEE Main 2021 cut-off will be released by NTA. It is expected that this year there will be slight changes in the JEE Main 2021 expected cut-off marks. Right now, it is a subject of speculation as per experts.
However, from the point of view and expectations of various subject matter experts, we have combined the expected cut-off marks of JEE Main 2021. However, it is to be noted that it is just an estimate on the basis of opinion formed by various subject matter experts on the subject. The real qualifying JEE Main cut-off marks will be released by NTA.

JEE main cut off marks of past 7 years
Candidates can have a look at JEE Main cut-off trends from the last 7 years starting from 2014. The analysis shows that though the cut-off marks for general category candidates have been reduced from a whopping 115 in 2014 to approx. 91 in the previous year 2020.
However, it’s been gradually increasing with time.
