EDUCATION
If you want to make your career in the medical field, then the first and foremost thing you need to do is to crack NEET exams.
NEET i.e. national eligibility cum entrance test is a national medical entrance exam conducted by NTA i.e. National Testing Agency every year. It is an exam in which thousands of students of the medical stream participate in order to get admission to MBBS, BDS, and AYUSH degree programmes.
A candidate who wants to make his/her career in the medical field is required to fight the NEET 2021 exam. It is one of the toughest competitive exams in our country, as every year there are only a limited number of seats available for quite a large number of students.
However, the syllabus is not altogether different, as it covers the concepts that were learned by students in the 11th and 12th classes. But the level of questions in the exam is purely based on concepts that one understands during the course of his/her senior secondary level. Someone who doesn’t get the core of the concept, can’t apply it during the exam. Furthermore, cutthroat competition and negative answer marking schemes also make it tough for students to crack NEET.
Before starting the preparation, some of the questions listed below could come to your mind:
So, here we are, to help you out in finding ways through which you could ace NEET exams with these proven strategies. We are quite sure that if any bio or medical field student wants to ace the NEET exam, follow the strategies listed down below, to get the required results.
1. Understanding the syllabus
It is the first and the foremost task that every student must do. Understanding your syllabus thoroughly has worked for many students, some of them were toppers. If you don’t know from which topic questions will be asked in the exam, then how you are or any student supposed to answer it.
Devote a good amount of time to understanding your syllabus.
So before starting your preparation you must understand that the syllabus of NEET includes 180 questions from biology, physics, and chemistry where 90 questions will be asked from biology and the other 90 questions would be taken equally from physics and chemistry ie, 45 each.
The paper would be of a total of 720 marks. For each correct answer, you will be awarded 4 marks while 1 mark would be deducted for each incorrect answer. Therefore start your preparation accordingly, firstly, try to complete the syllabus of the subject which covers max marks and later move on to other subjects.
2. Work on study material
The second most important thing which you should take care of is on gathering study material. You could figure out which books, notes, study material you should refer to with the help of your teachers, coaching, seniors, toppers and internet sources.
3. Segregation of time
After gathering study material, the next step is to focus on the segregation of time. Time allotment is a very essential part of your preparation as it will help you to utilize your time efficiently and productively without wasting too much time on simple topics.
For nearly perfect time management, you should devote 2 to 3 hours on simple concepts or subjects and a greater time of 5 or more hours on subjects which you consider tough.
4. Follow your timetable
The next step after segregation comes to the implementation part. You should strictly follow the time which you want to give to each subject.
Here, I am not saying you about following a timetable but time segregation, as it is more often seen that students when they are highly motivated make a timetable and never follow that throughout their course of preparation.so if you are a sincere and devoted student then you should focus more on spending time learning subjects as per your allotment (discussed in point 3)
5. Prepare short notes
It is very much essential to prepare notes which should be short in length so that you could revise the whole topic in one go rather than wasting your time in finding the book from where you have first learned the concept.
Also, short notes are easy to learn and revise and since you have devoted your precious time to prepare them, it would make you happy to learn from them and they would come in handy a day before your exam as now you don’t need to go through the whole book but just a bunch of papers.
6. Revise, revise and revise
Revision is of utmost importance as you cannot remember a thousand concepts by learning them once, you should revise a concept a thousand times to make your time and effort worth in the exams.
Most students just revise once and expect that they will remember it till the exam but this is an incorrect way. You will remember only when you give any subject a good amount of time as NEET is a conceptual objective type exam where a single incorrect answer could make you lose a probable seat in the best college.
7. Take breaks
During your whole learning process or preparation journey, taking breaks after every hour is essential as the human mind needs time too. You could take a good 10 minutes break after every hour of study. It would make you feel fresh and it helps in releasing your stress too.
8. Practice test
Don't wait till the time you complete your whole syllabus to take a test. Instead, you could enroll in a weekly test or you could go for an alternate day test. Giving a test is the best way to check whether your mind is grasping the concept or not.
As the NEET exam requires time management, give your brain time management training so that it could perform with the fullest efficiency in exams.
9. Stay positive
Stay positive during your whole preparation journey, as there may come times where you feel depressed or it may feel like an impossible thing but believe in yourself. Have a talk with your family, friends, seniors, teachers they will guide you throughout.
You could also do some ‘yoga’ as it brings positivity.
