A woman living in RG Residency in Sector 120 has alleged that an unknown man tried to sexually assault her by pulling her inside a lift of the building on Monday night. The police have registered a case and are investigating the matter.

According to the complainant, she was heading back home and when she was in the corridor of her building, and an unknown man allegedly pulled her hand and took her inside the lift.

As he started to force himself upon her, she raised an alarm.

On hearing her cries, security guards and residents started to gather at the spot. However, the unknown accused managed to flee.

The woman made a PCR call and a case was registered based on her complaint.

"We have registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal code and are investigating the matter," said a senior police officer of phase 3 police station.

Residents have alleged that the CCTV installed in the society are dysfunctional and despite high-maintenance charges, the builder hasn't provided the required security to the residents.
