The accused, identified as Aman Kumar, strangulated 29-year-old Seema with a dupaata in their rented house in Geetanjali Enclave in Baba Haridas Nagar. Seema was survived by an 8-year-old daughter.

Police said they received a tip-off from Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital on Friday night, saying that a woman has been strangulated.

"The victim was rushed to a hospital. We registered a case of murder," said a senior police officer.

During investigation, it was revealed that Seema lived with her husband and they often used to fight often. "The family told us that Kumar and Seema often fought as the man had an affair with a woman. Teams were formed as Kumar was found to be absconding," police said.
