Indian Spinal Injuries Centre has organised a wheelchair candle march rally on the occasion of Spinal Cord Injury Day at the Rajpath India gate on Sunday between 5.30 and 7 pm. The spine, orthopaedic, and neuromuscular surgical centre have organised this for the World Spinal Cord Injury Day on September 5.Over 200 wheelchair users and 1000 abled bodies will be participating in this rally to increase awareness that spinal cord injury is preventable and those afflicted can lead an inclusive life. The rally will be flagged-off in the presence of Dr Harsh Vardhan, Minister for Science & Technology & Earth Science, Government of India, Major HPS Ahluwalia, Chairman, Indian Spinal Injuries Centre, (ISIC) and Dr Harvinder Singh Chhabra, ISCoS SCI Day Committee Chairperson and Medical Director and Chief of Spine Services, Indian Spinal Injuries Centre.The Talkatora Indoor Stadium will witness classical and modern dance performances by differently-abled artists on wheelchairs.
