Vijay Goel pays musical tribute to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee

On account of the 94th birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on Tuesday, a special musical tribute was organised in the city at the Dr Ambedkar International Centre. The tribute was organised by Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Vijay Goel.

Songs and bhajans were performed by well-known singer Daler Mehndi.

The event was attended by many senior leaders and dignitaries including Vice President Venkaiah Naidu; BJP National General Secretary, Ramlal; BJP National Vice President, Shyam Jaju; Union Minsiter, Arjun Ram Meghwal; Ranjan Bhattacharya, foster son-in-law of the late Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

On the occasion, Vice President of India, Venkaiah Naidu inaugurated the photo exhibition on Vajpayee and his work. Praising the statesman's oratory, Naidu said, "He is the lovable Prime Minister India ever had. Prime Ministers are respected, admired there is no doubt about but this Prime minister was admired, respected, adored and above all most loved. Everybody used to love him." He said that Atal ji's good governance policies and dynamic personality made him a favourite among the masses and inspired the youth as well.

Remembering the statesman, Goel said, "Atalji's death was not only a huge loss for the entire nation but also for politics. I was fortunate enough that I got the chance to work with Atalji and got to know his personality closely."

Over the past several years, the minister along with his NGO Lok Abhiyan has been celebrating Atal Bihari Vajpayee Birth Anniversary. Goel started his NGO while working as the Minister of PMO during Vajpayee's tenure in office.
