The accused identified as Harish alias Hariya had robbed the house in Safdarjung Enclave area on December 17.
A man involved in several cases of burglary has been arrested by the South Delhi Police on Sunday. The accused identified as Harish alias Hariya had robbed the house in Safdarjung Enclave area on December 17.
According to the police the accused hailed from Amroha in Uttar Pradesh and was a proclaimed offender and wanted in 11 criminal cases. Police officials were on December 17 informed about an incident in Green Park area. When the police officials reached the location they found that the gate at the back of the house was broken. Investigations revealed that the house owner was abroad for his daughter's wedding ceremony when the caretaker of the house came and decamped with cash and valuables
The CCTV footage revealed that four persons were carrying out a recee around the house and two scooties were also parked outside. A man who had come on a motorcycle was also seen shaking hands with one of the four men. The details of the vehicles were obtained and the CCTV footage was scanned and the accused was traced as Hariya . A team was sent to his residence but before he could be arrested he had already surrendered in the court. He told the police that he along with his associates Ram Bharose, Mahinder and Suresh committed the burglary in Green Park. Teams have been formed to nab the remaining accused.
