Two persons were killed and another was critically injured on Monday when their two-wheelers collided at a traffic intersection near north-west Delhi's Mukherjee Nagar area.

Sarabjeet Singh (26) and Lakhvinder Singh (25), both natives of Punjab, were riding a motorbike which collided with 23-year-old Manjeet's scooter near the traffic signal at Haqiqat Nagar intersection at around 1 am, said DCP (Northwest) Vijay Singh. A police team rushed all three to a hospital where Sarabjeet and Lakhvinder were declared brought dead while Manjeet's condition is stated to be critical, he said.

The deceased youths stayed at a rented accommodation in the area and were taking coaching classes for various competitive examinations, he said.

Police are yet to ascertain where the youths were heading towards when the accident took place. Further details can only be known after Manjeet is declared fit for his statement to be recorded, the official added. A case under relevant sections of the IPC has been registered against unknown persons at the Mukherjee Nagar Police Station and further investigation is underway, the DCP said.
