According to the police, the girl lives with her family in the Railway Colony. On Friday around 6 pm, her mother could not find her anywhere. Panicked, the mother started looking for her in the neighbourhood.

Accused transgender Nisha also lives in the same locality. "Around 8 pm, the mother's search led her to Nisha's house, where she found her daughter. The other accused, Tarachand, was also present," a senior police officer said.

After returning home, the girl narrated the ordeal to her mother, who then approached the police and registered a complaint. A medical examination was conducted and the girl's statement was recorded under section 164 of the CrPC.

"A case under section 376D (gang rape) of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act has been registered at the Ashok Vihar police station. The accused were immediately arrested," DCP (north-west) Milind Mahadeo Dubre said.
