The Supreme Court stayed the amendments proposed by the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) on Tuesday to the Master Plan of Delhi (MPD)-2021 in order to give relief to traders from the ongoing sealing drive in the Capital.

Taking a tough stand on the matter, the apex court said that the DDA must stop indulging in this "dadagiri" (bullying).

The SC pulled up the Authority as well as the Delhi government and the three municipal corporations for not conducting a study to assess the impact of the proposed changes on the environment despite its February 9 directions on the same.

The DDA had put the amendments in the public domain for suggestions and objections last month. It received over 800 suggestions and was to finalise the amendments.
