Justice GS Sistani and Justice Chandra Shekhar directed the police to file an affidavit in this regard after the cops had sought a time of eight weeks to complete this investigation. The bench, however, was anguished that the probe was still ongoing and was still being dragged.

"Should any investigative agency drag the probe for so long," the court asked adding that the investigation had started in 2014 and now it is September 2017 and the agency wanted to pursue a new mode of investigation.

The police informed that in the new method, tests are conducted in foreign countries and its experts were available in India thereby adding that such tests were already being conducted in three cases in the country.

The court asked the city police to file an affidavit in this regard within two weeks and listed the matter for October 26.
