Strict action against ration dealers involved in black marketing: Kejriwal

The Delhi Chief Minister also stated that people who don't have ration cards will also be given ration by the Delhi government.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday warned ration dealers who are involved in black marketing during the coronavirus lockdown that has been imposed across India till April 15.

"We will ensure strict action against those ration dealers who are stealing people's ration," Kejriwal said during a press conference.  

The Delhi Chief Minister also stated that people who don't have ration cards will also be given ration by the Delhi government. He also asked people not to pay any heed to rumours.

"Stay home as an act of patriotism and don't pay attention to rumours," he said.

The Delhi CM further infored that strict patrolling on the borders of the national capital has been initiated to prevent the movement of migrant workers during the lockdown period. 

He said that rumours were doing the round that buses were were stationed at Kausambi, the area bordering Anand Vihar to take migrant workers to their home states following which, a huge number of people gathered there, leading to an alarming situation in the area.

Kejriwal, however, added that the situation has now been brought under control. 

Earlier today, Delhi Lt Governor Anil Baijal held a meeting Kejriwal, his deputy Manish Sisodia, district magistrates and DCPs via video conferencing and discussed measures to control the spread of coronavirus in the capital.

Taking to Twitter, Baijal said all district magistrates and deputy commissioners of police have been asked to ensure that no congregation is allowed in Delhi.

"All DMs & DCPs to jointly ensure-
1. No movement except for availing essential services is allowed.
2. No congregation is allowed.
3. Social distancing is maintained under all circumstances.
4. No one goes hungry and supply chain of essential services and goods is maintained." his tweet said.

So far, a total of 72 positive cases of coronavirus have been reported in Delhi.
