In her complaint, the student said that the incident took place when she went to a club at North Square Mall with her three friends on August 19. "I requested the club staff to play some music, but was angrily told to wait till 2 pm. At 2 pm, when I again repeated the request, I was abused and told that the club was not my father's property," she said.

"When me and my friends protested against such behavior of the club staff and told them that we would be complaining about such behavior, I was kicked by a woman at the club. She grasped me by the hair and started beating me," she added.

The woman further alleged that the staff members also threatened to kill her if she and her friends showed up at that club again.

"During all this time, the crowd and staff at the mall did nothing to stop the beating and instead egged on the club staff to beat us more," the student said.

"We have filed a police complaint at Police Station, Netaji Subhash Place Complex-Pitampura and demanded strict action against the perpetrators. We have also written to the DCW to look into the matter," she said.
