We appeal to all officers to not obstruct work as doing so would hit governance, says Saurabh Bhardwaj
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Saturday urged Delhi government officers boycotting meetings in protest of the alleged assault of Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash by party MLAs to “not obstruct work”.
AAP MLA and chief spokesperson Saurabh Bhardwaj said, “We appeal to all officers to not obstruct work as doing so would hit governance.”
The cases relating to the alleged assault on the CS and the attack on environment minister Imran Hussain and Delhi Dialogue Commission’s vice-chairman Ashish Khetan are being investigated by the police.
A senior AAP leader said that the bureaucrats should not make its tussle with the Delhi government an ego issue since their protest was hurting governance in the city.
CM Kejriwal with his cabinet colleagues had met the Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal on Friday in order to ensure that the work does not suffer because of the face-off between the bureaucrats and the the political executive.
The officers have been boycotting the ministers ever since the alleged attack on the Chief Secretary on Feb 19.
