One person was killed and five others injured when a speeding bus jumped off a divider and hit their vehicles on the other carriageway near Bara Hindu Rao area of North Delhi here this morning, police said.The identity of the deceased is yet to be established.

Police said that the incident happened around 10:15 AM when the driver of cluster bus plying on route number 937, which was heading toward Filmistaan area lost control.

The bus rammed an auto-rickshaw and a rickshaw before entering the other carriageway where it hit six people who were riding on different vehicles.

"Those injured have been identified as Gauri Shankar (48), Rajkumar (35), Nargis (35), Waqar Ahmed (61) and Id-Mohammad (45). The driver of the bus has been identified as Sunil and was arrested soon after the incident," said a police official.

The injured were taken to a nearby hospital where one of the six was declared brought dead while others were undergoing treatment, police said, adding a case of rash and negligent driving has been registered at Bara Hindu Rao police station.
