Ola driver stabbed to death in Delhi's Jahangirpuri area

According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Mehtaab Alam alias Guddu.

A 27-year-old ola driver was stabbed to death by unknown persons in North-West Delhi's Jahangirpuri area on Tuesday night.

According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Mehtaab Alam alias Guddu.

Mehtaab resided in E-block of Jahangirpuri area along with his mother and a brother.

On receiving a call after reaching home, Mehtaab stepped outside to answer the call. He was casually walking outside while talking on his phone. He reached close to gate number 2 of Babu Jagjeevan Ram hospital when some persons attacked him from behind and stabbed him multiple times.

"He was rushed to the hospital where doctors declared him dead on arrival. His body was sent for post-mortem and was later handed over to the family. A case under relevant sections has been registered. Teams have been formed to nab the accused persons," said a police official.

Mehtaab was murdered a few metres away from the Jahangirpuri police station.

His family members staged a protest outside the police station expressing agony over such happening near the police station. It was only after the police officials assured the family members of some action against the crime that they dispersed.

"He was casually walking outside and talking on his phone when he was stabbed. He was stabbed multiple times," said one of his relatives.
