Kumar was recalled to the police lines on Sunday itself.

According to the victim, he was only trying to warn potential homebuyers from investing in a disputed property. "We have an ongoing court case regarding a property we own in sector 121 which was forcefully taken by the builder for a housing project. We were not even given any compensation for the land. I had printed a few pamphlets with this information after which the whole incident unfolded. It was not a defamation effort," said Yadav.

The builder of the housing project said that compensation was given to all the farmers from whom the land was acquired. "Additional compensation was also given when the farmers demanded it. Everything is clear from our end and there is no dispute as far as we are concerned," the builder said.
