It has only been a fortnight that Sharma assumed office and the young cop has sent out a clear message that dereliction of duty, absenteeism and casual attitude towards work does not exist in his style of functioning.

On Saturday morning, SSP Sharma randomly called a police personnel from a different number and asked the constable to help him with the direction and location of a police station. However, the constable failed to help Sharma with the directions, following which he was taken off duty.

"Constable Devender Pawar, who was posted at Kasna police station, has been sent to district line and taken off duty with immediate effect. Sharma doesn't want any lapses in his team. He has guided his subordinates to be fit and lead the juniors by example," said the officer.

In another case, the silent Noida roads were full of police sirens as the Police Control Room (PRV) vans made their way through the empty roads at around 2 am to reach a destination in sector-50, after receiving a message on the wireless set.

On reaching the destination, the police personnel's were shocked when they found Sharma waiting for the arrival of different teams. It was later revealed that the SSP was checking the response time of the police parties.

During the drill, Sharma instructed his subordinates to either make efforts to make the district crime free or else sit at home.
