Two men and a 6-year-old girl died in two fire incidents in the National Capital in the past 36 hours. While a blaze at Kailash Nagar near Shahadra killed two persons, the child lost her life after a fire broke out at a slum near Mansarovar Park Metro station on Monday.

Ten fire tenders were pressed to control the fire at an unauthorised jeans factory at the Kailash Nagar building. The fire gutted the 3-storey structure and officials suspect it was fuelled by the clothes stored on the ground floor.

"Most occupants managed to exit the building in time. While two of them were incapacitated, they were rescued by the residents. Two charred bodies were found during the search," said Atul Garg, chief fire officer.

Meanwhile, Metro services between Dilshad Garden and Mansarovar Park stations were suspended for over an hour on Monday after the slum fire.
