Though intermittent rainfall has been gracing Delhi for the last few days, people were yet to feel any respite on Wednesday as the weather continued to be hot and humid.

Delhi has been in throes of a scorching summer. Though the mercury has dropped below the normal level, the humidity is yet to let up. As per the reports of the Meteorological Department, the maximum and minimum temperatures on Wednesday had settled much below the normal levels.

According to a MeT official: "The maximum temperature was recorded at 33.2 degrees Celsius, three notches below normal, and the minimum settled at 26 degrees Celsius, a notch below normal." There has been a drastic fluctuation in the humidity level as well, as they it swayed between 92 and 68 per cent. While 24.7 mm rainfall was recorded till 8.30 am, the city remained deprived of any rain thereafter, till evening.

The department officials have further said there was a possibility of light and moderate rains, accompanied by thundershowers, on Friday. "The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover at 32 and 27 degrees Celsius, respectively," an official said.
