Man rapes 18-month-old neighbour in front of his 2 kids in Delhi's Aman Vihar

Delhi Police arrested a man for raping his 18-month-old neighbour in the Aman Vihar area on Thursday.

The 33-year-old accused confessed during the police probe.

The cops said that the infant was abducted by Rakesh when she was playing with some children outside her house around 9 am on Wednesday.

According to the PTI, the accused raped the girl in presence of his two children inside his one-room accommodation.

An hour later, her mother found the child but in a unstable condition. The toddler was bleeding and complained of severe pain.

The child was taken to a nearby hospital where the doctors informed the mother about the incident.

“Based on medical report and a statement from her family members, we registered a case of rape under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act,” deputy commissioner of police, outer Delhi, MN Tiwari was quoted as saying by the HT.

A case under section 6 (aggravated penetrative sexual assault, punishable with a maximum term of life imprisonment), was registered against the accused.

The girl's maternal grandfather works as a construction labourer while her mother is a homemaker, an official said.
