The accused has been identified as Sonu Khan, 31, a resident of the Seemapuri area.

According to the police, the matter came to light when the complainant Raja Khan, a resident of Dilshad Colony in Shahdara, reported that he had been getting threat calls from local goons for the past few days.

"He told police that the caller used to demand protection money or face dire consequences. Initially the victim avoided these calls but on April 7, one person named Sonu Khan along with his two accomplices visited Raja Khan's office and pointed a pistol at him," said Nupur Prasad, DCP Shahadra.

During investigation, CCTV footage of the incident was scrutinised and following local intelligence, the accused person was arrested in a raid on June 28. The pistol used by him to threaten the victim was also recovered from his possession.
