Kin had planned woman's 74th birthday party

Kaushal Bhutani would have celebrated her 74th birthday on Saturday, had her life not been cut short so brutally.

"It was my sister-in-law's birthday and I had planned a surprise party. All arrangements had been made. I had invited all our relatives to her house," Ramlal Bhutani's brother J C Bhutani said.

The 20-year-old attendant, who is being suspected to be the murderer had been appointed just 10 days ago, after Ramlal suffered a heart attack. He was hired from an agency.

"Ramlal survived a heart attack 10 days ago and after that, his movement stopped completely. I had asked Kaushal about the attendant's verification, to which shereplied that she knew the owner of the agency," Bhutani added.

SL Chawla, another relative, said: "We used to call them every day and visited their house at least twice a month. Their health was the main concern. After the heart attack, we had become even more concerned."

The couple had no children and had been living in that house for the last 40 years. "They got married late. Ramlal was 45 when he got married," Chawla said.
