Ousted Delhi minister Kapil Mishra met Lieutenant Governor (LG) Anil Baijal on Monday, and submitted complaints and documents pertaining to alleged irregularities in the procurement of ambulances and medical equipment in Delhi government hospitals.
He also stated that he has submitted papers related to alleged irregularities in appointments and transfers in the Delhi government.
Mishra said: "I have submitted documents pertaining to irregularities in the Delhi government. The LG has assured me that the complaints will be probed into and that he will direct the Anti-Corruption Branch to inquire into the corruption."
The leader further said that he will not end his campaign to expose the irregularities that took place in the Delhi government. Also, earlier in the day, a city court took cognizance of a criminal defamation complaint filed by State Health Minister Satyendar Jain against Mishra, for allegedly defaming him by levelling corruption charges against him. Metropolitan Magistrate Shefali Barnala Tandon will hear the matter on July 14.
Jain's Advocate Gautam Dhamija argued that Mishra had made defamatory statements before the national media. He alleged that Mishra used his official twitter handle to defame Jain, instead of going to any probe agency.
The court also heard arguments in another defamation complaint by Jain against BJP MLA Manjinder Singh Sirsa, for claiming that the minister was indulging in circulating huge amounts of illegitimate money within the party. The court will hear the complaint against Sirsa June 3. He had also accused a media house of publishing allegedly libelous and slanderous statements made by Sirsa.
In his complaint against Mishra, Jain submitted that on May 7, he had made a statement before the media accusing him of handing over bribe of Rs 2 crore to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on May 5. He said his family members and a lot of people from his constituency had questioned him about the incident, which had caused irreparable damage to his reputation.
