The HRD Ministry has sought a report from Ahlcon Public School on the alleged suicide by a class IX student whose parents claim she was sexually harassed by two teachers. "We have asked for details," HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar said when asked about the incident on the sidelines of an event.
Meanwhile, the Delhi Commission for Protection of Child Rights (DCPCR) has also sought a report from the school. The body also wrote to the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR), urging it to intervene in the matter. "It has also sought a report from the education department. We have sought details of her mark-sheets to check the tempering allegations," said DCPCR chairperson Ramesh Negi.
