Greater Noida: File case of gang rape – Court to cops

In a gang-rape case of a widow residing in Sector 66, the district court in Surajpur, Greater Noida has ordered to file a case against the four accused on Tuesday.

According to the court order, the accused Imrana and Nadeem are residents of Sector 39 and own a company named India Steel Pvt. Ltd near Habibpur. The victim is a resident of Mammura Village in Sector 66 and worked as an assistant in the company.

According to the victim, Imram and Nadeem used to touch her in the pretext of work. After being fed up with their conduct, she left the job in September. The resignation did not spare her of their lecherous approach. They started visiting her in residence at Mamura and they threatened her saying they will 'pick her up' taking advantage of the fact that she stays alone.

"The accused also threatened her that they will marry her and change her religion. On October 6, the accused reached her house with other two more associates and raped her at gunpoint. The neighbours saw them when they left her house," said Akhilesh Tripathi, SHO of Phase-3 police station.

The woman also alleged that after the incident, when she went to the police station, the SHO denied lodging her complaint, after which she moved to the district court in Surajpur seeking justice.

SHO Tripathi said that following the court order, the police registered the case under the Indian Penal Code Section 376 (punishment for rape). A search operation has been launched, he added.
