Get set for three days of art and entertainment in February

The festival will bring more than 400 artists from 15 countries, who will make Delhi sway to their tunes at Jawahar Lal Stadium from February 23-25 in 80 hours of entertainment.

Come February and music lovers in the Capital will get to experience global melodies, dance and other performing arts at the Navrasa Duende Global Carnival. The festival will bring more than 400 artists from 15 countries, who will make Delhi sway to their tunes at Jawahar Lal Stadium from February 23-25 in 80 hours of entertainment.

The musicians will perform from indie to western classical to classic jazz as well as opera. Those having an ear for music will also have the opportunity to hear Indian maestros like classical vocalist Pt Jasraj, flutist Pt Hariprasad Chaurasiya, and get to watch dancer couple Raja Radha Reddy among others. From the indigenous indie scene, individual performers like Raghu Dixit, Javed Ali, qawwali singers Nizami Bandhu, singing duo Hari Sukhmani, Advaita, Rekha Bhardwaj, Blues band from Shillong and Soulmate will perform at the three-day festival. Others performing at the festival are: Indian Ocean; singers like Jasleen Royal, drummer Sivamani, Gulaabo, Ashley Lobo's Amaara are also part of the lineup.

The Global carnival also has an impressive repository of international composers like Alpha 9, Sigma, Afishal and Anish Sood for EDM. For classical jazz, they have roped in Louiz Banks, Peter Cincotti and AJ Croce. London Festival Opera, that has performed to critical acclaim across the world.

Speaking about the performance, Rudy Wallang, founder of Soulmate shared how he has experienced indie music scene changing over the years. "Now, we have a gig almost every day in most cities in the country. As the live entertainment thing is still in its nascent stage in India, tweaking still takes place but there has been a sea of change now which bodes well for the future."
