The Delhi Metro, in association, with the Worldwide Fund For Nature (WWF) will distribute 8,000 saplings of native tree species from 20 Metro stations as part of the 'Adopt a Tree' campaign.

As part of the campaign, these saplings will be distributed free of cost at the stations from 4 pm to 7:30 pm every Thursday and Friday during the months of August and September.

The stations where these saplings will be available are: HUDA City Centre, MG Road, Chhattarpur, Saket, Green Park, Hauz Khas, Dilshad Garden, Laxmi Nagar, Jamia Milia, Dwarka Mor, Vaishali, Kalkaji Mandir, Botanical Garden, Vasant Vihar, GTB Nagar, Jangpura, Nehru Place, Rajouri Garden, Netaji Subhash Place and RK Puram. A similar campaign was also organised last year.

DMRC also carries out plantation drives from time to time as part of its 'Swachh Chetna – DMRC Eco Club' initiative. The Delhi Metro is already on its way to plant 20,000 saplings by August this year in its maintenance depots, staff quarters, stations and under the viaduct.
