Meanwhile, the Food and Supply Department has taken samples of the edible items used and sent them for forensic tests.

Police teams along with the food and health department visited around 7 hospitals to find out the exact number of children who fell sick.

"We visited Apollo Hospital where we found 5 children admitted who were discharged on Friday; 9 kids were admitted in Max hospital of which 2 kids are still there, while around 18 children were rushed to Jaypee Hospital, of which 17 have been discharged and one is undergoing treatment," said Sanjaya Srivastava, food safety officer, Gautam Budh Nagar. The food department has collected the samples of the paratha and oil used for breakfast. "If the food samples fail the test, strict action will be taken against the school," said BN Singh, District Magistrate.

Other than these hospitals, the teams visited four other hospitals to know the exact number of students and record statements of the families. "A parent whose son had fallen sick after consuming the food has given a complaint and we have lodged an FIR against the school under section sections 328 (causing hurt by means of poison). Till now, it was found that more than 100 kids had fallen victim of the stale food. We are trying to meet the families to record statements to further investigate," said Vedpal Singh Pundir, SHO, Expressway police station.
