A major fire was reported on Saturday at the Ghazipur landfill site in east Delhi. However, no casualties were reported, said officials of Delhi Fire Services (DFS). The fire took place a little over a month after a portion of the Ghazipur landfill collapsed killing two people on September 1.

“We received a call around 5.48 pm regarding the fire. Five to six fire tenders were rushed to the spot,” said DFS officials. 

“There is a permanent fire at the landfill. This time it spread to a wider area. The tenders doused the fire within an hour,” officials  said.
