Female patient missing from Safdarjung Hospital, FIR lodged

Reena Kumari, a 22-year-old woman admitted to the Safdarjung Hospital, is missing since January 11. While various efforts have been made by the family to find her whereabouts, there has been no news for one week. An FIR has been lodged at the Sarojini Nagar police station by the father as he hopes for her return.

A daily wager from Bihar, Kailash Singh, living in Vishnu Garden area of west Delhi, admitted his young daughter at the hospital on December 30 after she showed signs of depression. The woman, on bed number 17 in ward 41 was last seen by her father on the morning of disappearance when he went to buy some medicines.

"I asked everyone from doctors to guards, but nobody had a clue as to where she went. I have been looking for her since then and have even lodged an FIR," said Singh."There has been no response from the hospital and I was thrown out of the ward," he added.

Singh has now circulated pamphlets with her daughter's picture and details in the hope for her safe return. Some of these are seen outside the hospital.

In another similar incident, a teenage patient named Farzan had gone missing from ward number 32 of Lok Nayak Hospital on Monday, but the young man returned home safely on Tuesday afternoon. However, his father, Zafruddin, claims that most of the cameras at the hospital are not working and he could not retrieve a video of the ward when he was looking for his son.
