With the rapid rise in COVID-19 cases lately, and subsequent restrictions imposed by some governments to control the spread, miscreants have also found a new opportunity to spread rumours. Recently, a video went viral on social media claiming that lockdown will be imposed in Delhi from tomorrow.

The clip shows a TV news bulletin in which Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Delhi L-G Anil Baijal can be seen doing a press conference and breaking news flashing that a lockdown has been announced in Delhi.

However, the government’s fact-checking arm Press Information Bureau (PIB) has termed it as fake as no such announcement has been made. It is an old video from 2020 that is being shared now.

“A video is being shared on social media which claims that lockdown will be imposed in Delhi from tomorrow morning. This video is from last year (2020). It’s an old news clip”, PIB Fact Check wrote.
