A 27-year-old fashion design graduate was stabbed in the neck by her former driver in Malviya Nagar on Sunday, leaving her seriously wounded. Police say it could be a case of stalking.
The accused, Anil, showed up at the doorstep of the woman’s home on the pretext of asking her to move her car, saying that it was obstructing his employer’s car. The man was earlier employed by the woman’s family, but had been fired a year ago.
“On the man’s request, the girl came to the nearby parking lot to remove her car. Anil was waiting near her vehicle,” said an officer.
Eyewitnesses said the man took out a knife as soon as the woman entered the driver’s seat. The duo exchanged a few words before he started assaulting her. He then stabbed her in the neck, left the knife in the car and fled.
The woman’s mother, who caught a glimpse of Anil when he visited their home, rushed out and placed a call to the PCR.
