As the COVID-1 9 cases across the country have dropped significantly over the past month, many states have taken the decision to reopen their educational institutes, with several COVID guidelines issued to make sure that all the students and staff members are safe.

The government of Delhi has issued a similar decision and has decided to reopen the schools across the national capital for students of senior classes. The government has also approved the reopening of schools for junior classes as the number of active cases in Delhi is at an all-time low.

As the schools are reopening across the national capital, the Directorate of Education, Delhi has issued fresh guidelines for the vaccination of staff members. According to the recently issued order, all the teaching and non-teaching staff need to be vaccinated by October 15, 2021.

In the guidelines issued by the DoE Delhi, it is mentioned clearly that all the staff that doesn’t get themselves vaccinated by October 15, 2021, won't be allowed to enter the school premises. It is assumed that at least all the staff have been vaccinated with one dose of the COVID jab yet.

The official notification of the DoE reads, “Schools of Directorate of Education are directed to – ensure that all teachers & school staff who have not vaccinated should be vaccinated by 15th October 2021. All such teachers & school staff who have not got themselves vaccinated by 15th October 2021 should not be allowed to attend the school and their absence would be treated as on leave."

The Directorate of Education has further asked all the school authorities and heads to make sure that necessary preparations are made to ensure that the vaccination of the staff is complete by the above-mentioned date. The school principals have also been asked to take note of the same.

The schools in Delhi have already reopened for senior classes after over one year of online classes. The Delhi Disaster Management Authority approved the opening of schools for junior classes on Wednesday as well, as the number of COVID cases has reduced.
