A 33-year-old accused in several cases of robbery and dacoity was arrested by the Delhi Police from Haryana's Hisar on Friday.
The accused has been identified as Narender Singh. Singh had barged into a house of a property dealer in Dabri three months ago and robbed the family with Rs 84 lakh and gold jewellery.
During the robbery, the gang of 12 criminals had stabbed the property dealer, Pradeep Kumar Gupta, while his family was held hostage in the early morning hours. Although the police team had nabbed eleven other accused involved in the crime, Singh had been absconding for three months.
A cash reward of Rs 25 thousand was also announced by the court as he had been accused in 35 other cases of robbery, snatching and burglary. Singh was also planning another dacoity at the residence of a businessman in West Delhi, for which he had also visited Uttam Nagar a week before.
The police team recovered a fully loaded country-made pistol from him, which he had hid in Uttam Nagar to use for dacoity.
"We had been trying to nab him for over three months. A tip helped us arrest him," said a senior police official.
