The HR Conference was organised keeping in mind the increasing importance of the human resource department in the increasing competitive era. The role and the impact of human resources as a domain have undergone a huge change and it has turned out to be an integral part of organisational management team for decision making.

LBSIM Director Dr DK Srivastava delivered the welcome address in which he shared how the HR department has transformed from minimum critical role to emerging importance in the era of surging business challenges. HR is considered as an added competitive advantage to the organisations.

Conference Convener Dr Rashmi Sharma introduced the theme wherein she talked about the organisational challenges like exponential growth of social media, well-informed user, to name a few. Gen Y looks for value addition and ample growth opportunity. Thus, the challenge is to retain such employees while managing global organisations at the same time.

Dr Avinash V Deolekar, Chief Guest, Executive Vice President, People Strategy gave the inaugural address. He stated the importance of business strategy, managing people performance and people development in sync with organisational development. He shared his valuable insights on how the role of HR has changed over the years and how he reshaped the HR department of the organisation by connecting more with the employees, developing management systems and retention policies so as to enhance the employee skills.

Prof GL Sharma, Head, New Projects, Advisor-Corporate Interface, LBSIM, talked about the future of HR. Determining the Personal Selling Price is a crucial element for every organisation. Behaviour is crucial and maintaining the tolerance level and a giving attitude with the required skill is the most important factor, he said.
