The 23-year-old had gone out with nine other friends to celebrate a friend's birthday on Sunday night when a small argument led to the murder of one of her friends. She was also hit with a beer bottle and now lies on a hospital bed with six sutures on her head.

Kaur and her friends were partying at Raftaar bar on Club Road when one of them got into an argument with the disk jockey over a song. At this, the disk jockey, identified as Deepak Bisht, pulled off one man's turban. Seeing this, Vijaydeep Singh, the deceased, who had gone to the washroom along with another friend, Puneet, went to control the fight.

"Vijaydeep was not the kind of person who would pick up fights. He was always the calm one and would control such situations. That is exactly what he was doing there as well. But the DJ, along with the bouncers in the club, started roughing my friends," a visibly shocked Kaur said.

Within minutes of the argument, Bisht ran towards the kitchen area and brought out a kitchen knife. In the heated argument, he hit Singh twice, once on the hand and the second on the abdomen, which proved fatal.

As soon as Singh fell on the ground, five of his friends picked him up to take to the hospital, but the club staff, including the bouncers, first tried to stop them then turned off the power supply, thus stopping the elevators. The group had to drag Singh's body down the stairs from the third floor. In the meantime, someone threw a beer bottle from the top which hit Kaur on the head and she fell unconscious.

Kaur and her friends allege that the pub staff was not at all supportive and instead of controlling the arguments, the bouncers took sides which led to the brawl and the death of the young man.
