V K Jain, the advisor to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, has resigned from the post, citing personal reasons and family commitments for the decision. The resignation letter was submitted to the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi Anil Baijal on Tuesday.

"I am resigning for personal reasons," Jain told DNA. "I want to give more time to my family. My wife has always complained that I am always busy with work. I will be going on leave from Wednesday and take some rest."

A 1984-batch IAS officer, VK Jain was handpicked by Kejriwal after he retired as CEO of Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB). Jain joined as the adviser to CM on September 2017.

A close confidante of Kejriwal, he was responsible for all the meetings and handling of important documents related to the CM's office.
