Delhi CM's wife Sunita Kejriwal admitted to hospital days after contracting the COVID-19 virus

Sunita Kejriwal tested positive for the COVID-19 virus on April 20 and was being treated in home isolation.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s wife Sunita Kejriwal has been admitted to Max Super Speciality Hospital in Saket on Friday. Sunita Kejriwal tested positive for the COVID-19 virus on April 20 and was being treated in home isolation.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Somnath Bharti took to Twitter to share the news. The Delhi CM also isolated himself at his home after his wife was diagnosed with COVID-19. 

He tweeted, “Upsetting that my bhabhi .@KejriwalSunita Ji has been admitted in Max, Saket on account of Corona. She is a very strong-willed lady and no Corona can harm her at all. She always stood with all of us in our troubled times. Let’s pray for her quickest recovery!”

Delhi BJP leader Kapil Mishra also tweeted, "CM @ArvindKejriwal Ji's wife Sunita Kejriwal's admission to Max Hospital Saket due to corona is worrying news. Praying for her speedy recovery."

Delhi is currently in the midst of a rampaging second wave of the coronavirus outbreak, spreading at an alarming rate.

On Thursday, the national capital reported 24,235 cases with a positivity rate of 32.82%, and 395 deaths due to the COVID-19 virus, the highest since the pandemic began a year ago.

This was the eighth day in a row that Delhi has recorded over 300 deaths due to COVID-19. The city currently has 97,977 active cases.
