The accused has been identified as Satender Kumar Yadav alias Rakesh, a resident of Paharganj, where he was living on rent and running a cosmetic shop. He is originally from Patna, Bihar. The current consignment was prepared by him using Ketamine injections received from Patna, which he was going to supply to his contact in Spain through courier.

The accused was earlier working as an assistant at his cousin Nagender's chemist shop in Paharganj. "Many foreign customers used the shop to purchase Ketamine," said Bhisham Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Crime Branch. Rakesh took over after Nagender was arrested and sent to jail in 2012.
