The crime branch arrested two men for peddling drugs in Delhi and neighbouring cities, and recovered about 790kg of marijuana worth Rs 54 lakh from them.

Jagdish Kumar Arya and Saroj Subudhhi were nabbed from ITO and New Delhi railway station, respectively.

A special task force was sent to the station after the crime branch recieved a tip off about the drug racket. The accused would smuggle marijuana into the city from Bhubaneswar in Orissa. They normally travelled on the Rajdhani Express.

Jagdish was apprehended near ITO with 548kg of marijuana in his tempo. However, after interrogation, he informed the police about another consignment coming from Bhubaneswar. A team raided New Delhi railway station, nabbed Saroj and recovered 242kg of marijuana in six cartons.

Saroj revealed that they had two more associates, Anil and Sarvan.

According to the police, Jagdish is a driver by profession. He came to know Sarvan who was a tenant in the same building as his. Sarvan introduced him to drug peddling. Both of them started procuring marijuana from Bhubaneswar, which was brought to Delhi by car initially. Later, the two met Anil, who helped them smuggle the drug through railways.
