Calling it an "advertisement" government, Dikshit on Wednesday hit out at the Kejriwal dispensation, saying the work they claim to have done remains "invisible"
On the third anniversary of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government, former Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit along with Delhi Congress Chief Ajay Maken released a "chargesheet" in the form of booklet questioning the government's initiatives in various sectors, including health and education.
Calling it an "advertisement" government, Dikshit on Wednesday hit out at the Kejriwal dispensation, saying the work they claim to have done remains "invisible". "I do not want to say much but people know the AAP government is an advertisement government. They are seen talking but their works are invisible. People should be wary of the AAP government and it is a matter of concern that work claimed to be done by it is nowhere to be seen," said Dikshit.
Dikshit was approached by Maken to collectively fight against the AAP government in the Capital. During the municipal elections in 2017, senior Congress leaders, including Dikshit, Haroon Yusuf, Dr AK Walia, Sandeep Dikshit had openly blamed the poor leadership for the disappointing results.
"It is my fault and I will correct it. Had we been together like this, we would have won the MCD elections," Maken said. Besides Dikshit, a number of senior Delhi Congress leaders, including Sajjan Kumar, AK Walia, Haroon Yusuf and Mangat Ram Singhal were present during the announcement.
Speaking about the media coverage given to the AAP government, she said, "They find ways to be in newspapers. I fail to understand why they are given so much coverage."
"It is not Aam Aadmi Party but Khas Aadmi Party (Important Man Party). The booklet contains the evaluation of different departments of Delhi. We have also compared Congress' 15-year-rule with that of AAP's rule, which is based on facts and figures," Maken stated.
Sitting next to Maken, whose leadership she had criticised during the MCD election last year, Dikshit avoided questions on campaigning for the party and its future chief ministerial candidate. "Congress always has one face. How can you ask such a question," she said.
